don't fit very well/ fall off?

But that is getting ahead of myself.

First confirmed covid case in NM - Wed March 12th?
Friday - March 13th, APS cancels classes thru Apr 30th
UNM extends Spring Break by 2 weeks (thru Apr 5th)
Disney and all the FL theme parks close ~ March 16th
California - Statewide Shelter in place order March 19th  also during this period, we are hearing about universities closing.  It all came kind of rapid fire.

I was pretty late being able to work from home... Between one thing and another, Lisa stopped coming to the office the Thursday or Friday before spring break.  Then Daniel had AL spring break week, Tuesday? or Wednesday?  It was Kyla, Andy, Arvin and myself at the end of that Wednesday when Kyla said--(at the end of a long day, having shared the same space with the rest of us for 9 hours) oh, by the way, Marco has been tested for covid & it will be a few days before he gets his results.  I came home.  And slept on it.  Then freaked out.  Jon had gotten us cheap little work cell phones, which arrived.  Workstation Management configured and brought us windows laptops.  New VoIP deskphones arrived and were set up and configured.   And George the subcontractor for Telecom moved heaven and earth to get our virtual phones working.  I went in that Thursday morning, threw files onto OneDrive and onto a thumb drive.  Grabbed a few folders of stuff, loaded things and was gone by about noon. Gloria's stress level was spiraling up.  By Thursday evening, they had closed the SUB and the library and the bookstore?  Campus was a wasteland -- Spring Break PLUS Pandemic Panic. Parking had decreed that anyone with a pass could park in any non-reserve spot.  One day that week I went to Frontier...   at that point the guidelines said (that was before the restaurants closed for dine-in).  I guess I didn't take a picture.  But it was startling:  yellow crime scene tape blocking off every other table.

March 19, 2020.
On my way home, to set up and start 'working from home,' went by the high school.  There were 2 women all bundled up, with a rolling steel restaurant case, and a couple of cars in line to pick up grab and go food.  It brought tears to my eyes.

Took me the rest of Thursday to move things around on my desk/ make room.  Find the ethernet cord and string it all the way through the house... sigh.  Was lucky to have an HDMI cable for my nice monitor, so could plug that in in short order.  Ditto the keyboard.  And already, a decent office chair.  Super dusty.  Right by the cat food bowls and litter box #2.  But a huge lovely window!!

At some point I found the time and energy to wash the window and the screen and the sill, which was caked with mud and gunk.  What is it about a clean, shiny window that is so pleasurable?

WEIRD NEW CHANGES & PROCEDURES

Thank goodness Dr. Flower's office is still open.  And/ but very weird to just drop Agatha off by the front door like an abandoned child.  Waving at Laurel through the window.  David came and got her.  Then I called and gave them my cc#.  When I got home Gloria had me just open the crate door from the porch and let Miss A slip inside.  Then we washed down the box.  I washed my hands. Etc.

Should have taken pictures--at some point, right after the governor ordered shelter in place? Or when things were slowly shutting down, I freaked out about kitty litter.  I called in a phone order to Clark's... then went and picked it up.  Was able to get 3 40# bags.  As of today (last day of April, have 2.5 bags).  Should probably see if it is still available?

G orders from CostCo and has a bunch of stuff delivered?  We only did that once...  that must have been early that week (Monday 16th or 17th?)  I was baffled and a little annoyed with her at the time.  But very grateful later.  Avocados.  The 5# bag of onions that turned out to be Vadalias ... by that point, the week before going to CostCo we were baffled to find all the TP gone, and all the Clorox wipes, and NO cases of canned tomatoes or green beans.  We were shocked.  I guess a fair number of folks started panic-buying/ hoarding before we actually started to worry.

Turns out SRW had had a similar experience putting in a delivery order with Publix.  She got weird quantities of half and half? (which G told her she could put into smaller containers and freeze).  Oh and milk? Which she doesn't drink.  I think Greg and Kelly have been doing her wine shopping for her.  lol.  Meanwhile, my mother the extrovert, kept making almost daily trips to Publix.  !!

She THOUGHT she was ordering a case of
regular-sized cans!

HUMOR & ART
Toilet paper shortages

Covid-19 still life:  Remember the days when you could
actually buy 70% alcohol or hydrogen peroxide without
even thinking about it?!

Gloria has gotten REALLY good at these.  Oh, and
without elastic.  Remember elastic?!

Masks - also very handy for keeping cats out of your water!
